According to the RSA, these fee revisions are part of their strategic business planning for the upcoming year, which includes an allocation of €18 million toward public interest initiatives and government priorities.

Revised Fees Effective January 1st 2025: Driving Licence: Fee will increase from €55 to €65. Learner Permit: Fee will rise from €35 to €45. Full NCT Test: Cost will go up from €55 to €60. NCT Retest: Fee will increase from €28 to €40.

Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test: There will be a 15% increase in the pre-VAT cost.

These will be the first fee changes for RSA services since 2012, and in some cases, since 2011. The authority highlighted that the adjustments are necessary to align with operational and public expenditure needs.
