Dublin has the highest percentage of FTTP and/or cable coverage (92%), according to the most recent Electronic Communications Sector Quarterly Report.
With a 29 percentage point growth over the previous year, Leitrim has the fastest-growing FTTP coverage. The number of fixed broadband subscriber lines rose to 1.68 million, up 0.6% from the previous quarter and 2.6% from the third quarter of 2023.
In the third quarter of this year, 48.5% of all fixed broadband subscriber lines were FTTP subscriber lines, of which over 817,000 were.
According to Eircodes, FTTP is the most popular broadband technology and is accessible at 71% of all locations. The average monthly data usage for a home fixed broadband subscriber line was 448.9 GB, which represents an 11% increase from the third quarter of the previous year.
In the meantime, according to today's ComReg data, there were 10.1 million mobile subscribers overall, including machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobile broadband.
