In the run-up to Christmas and New Year's Eve, the business will add 45 more bus departures over multiple nights to its current 10 24-hour routes from the city, which include the 41 services to Dublin Airport.

The regular Friday and Saturday schedule will be supplemented with six additional Nitelink services. Thursday 12, Thursday 19, Sunday 22, Monday 23, Monday 30, and Tuesday 31 are the additional dates in December.

According to Dublin Bus, over time, the extension will boost capacity by almost 50,000. Gwen Morgan, Director of Service Operations for Dublin Bus, said in a statement: "We have been working hard with the National Transport Authority (NTA) to really focus in on the best routes and times to help get people home from Dublin on these nights."

This comes after Iarnród Éireann declared last week that DART and commuter trains would have an extended schedule over the Christmas season. Every Thursday through Saturday before to Christmas and on New Year's Eve, the extended service will be available.

Additional services that serve all stations to Howth will depart from Dublin Pearse at 12.30 and 1.30 in the morning. On the other hand, more DART services will depart Dublin Connolly at 12.35 and 1.35 in the morning, serving all stations to Greystones.

All stations will be served to Maynooth by the new commuter Western line trains, which will leave Dublin Pearse at 12.20 and 2.05 in the morning. Additionally, trains that serve all stations to Drumcondra and then stop at all stations from ParkWest to Kildare will depart Dublin Pearse at 11.55 p.m. and 1.58 a.m.

At 12.40 and 1.40 in the morning, the extra services to Dundalk will depart from Dublin Pearse, make a stop at Tara Street in Dublin Connolly, and then travel to all stations from Howth Junction to Dundalk.

In addition, the Luas will host extra services on New Year's Eve and on Friday and Saturday evenings before to Christmas. Between 1 and 3 in the morning, the extra services on the Red and Green lines will operate.
