Thirty percent of the company will be acquired by 2035, and seventy percent before the end of January 2025. Kerry Dairy Ireland, a dairy and products company that is currently a part of the Kerry Group, processes more than 1.1 billion litres of milk a year from 2,740 family farms in Munster.

The company, which employs more than 1,500 people and exports to more than 58 countries worldwide, generated €1.3 billion in sales in 2023.

With six dairy production facilities spread throughout Ireland and the UK, Kerry Dairy Ireland boasts a robust portfolio of dairy food brands, particularly in the snacking category, which includes Kerrymaid, Charleville, EasiSingles, LowLow, Dairygold, and Cheestrings.

In addition, Kerry Dairy Ireland runs a feed mill in Farranfore and a chain of 31 agri-services outlets across Kerry, Limerick, Clare, and north Cork under the "Farm & Home Store" brand.

Following discussions that considered past performance, market conditions, business projections, and the Co-op's broader strategic advantages, an agreement has been reached that outlines a €350 million consideration for its 70% stake in Kerry Dairy Ireland, based on an enterprise value of €500 million.

The Co-op will have the right to call for the remaining 30% ownership at any point between the completion of the 70% acquisition and July 31, 2030.
