Grey concrete panels cover the 1960s office block known as Fanum House on Great Victoria Street.

For over ten years, there have been plans to demolish it and build a hotel or apartments instead. Planning approval has already been given to the owners for a student housing complex consisting of four towers and 560 rooms.

The rooftop of Fanum House served as the backdrop for numerous television reports throughout the Troubles, and it was once the Belfast headquarters for newspapers and media outlets like the Irish Times, RTÉ, and Sky.
