The only metro region in the euro zone with positive hiring momentum was Dublin, according to the report, which looked at the LinkedIn Hiring Rate in a number of locations, including New York, Paris, and Rome.

Additionally, the data reveals that the intensity of job searches is increasing globally, with Ireland coming in sixth place as of 2024.

Ireland ranks second in Europe for the availability of both sorts of work, and it still has one of the highest percentages of both hybrid and remote job options.

But these kinds of possibilities are becoming less common.

Over the last 12 months, there has been a decline of 14.8% in distant positions and a decline of 12.5% in hybrid possibilities on an annual basis.

The number of flexible work options that are available has decreased, yet demand for these employment still exceeds supply.

According to Sue Duke, country manager for LinkedIn Ireland, "it is not surprising that we are seeing a lot of competition for roles in a tight jobs market, given that the Irish economy is effectively at full employment."

"What clearly stands out is that companies that offer flexible work options are attracting more applicants than their peers, so it continues to be a point of differentiation for prospective employers," said Ms Duke.
