With their integration of Enviroguide, the new jobs will focus on environmental science and engineering, ecology and biodiversity, risk advisory and energy consulting. According to r Martin, DNV´s principal consultant, explained that their decision to expand to Ireland was due to “a vote of confidence in [their] highly-skilled workforce and [their] commitment to sustainability,”, and Hari Vamadevan, UK and Ireland Regional Director for DVN stated that they their goal is to help companies “work towards highly-decarbonised energy systems, in line with the Paris Agreement´s objectives”. Additionally, the expansion will also serve to paint the country as a hub for innovative and environmentally friendly businesses due to their biodiversity and environmental expertise.

DVN was originally established as a membership organisation in Osla for over 160 years and has provided more than 100,000 companies in over 100 countries worldwide, and they work with evaluating sea safety, advancing food safety, providing guidance on energy projects, certifying supply chains, overseeing cyber risk management, and improving patient care. The company invests 5% of their annual revenue into research and development, and they will be focusing on supporting Ireland in transitioning into a low-carbon energy system. They will do so by increasing renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and using artificial intelligence to improve the energy sector´s performance.
