The report highlights that the National Lottery created 33 new millionaires this year, with over 161 players sharing an impressive €103 million in high-tier prizes across all draw-based games.
Dublin led the way, with €21 million in winnings paid out to 32 players, including seven who won prizes exceeding €1 million.
Meanwhile, Cork, Kerry, and Limerick each produced three millionaires in 2024. Notably, one Limerick winner claimed the second-largest prize of the year—a Lotto jackpot worth €8.9 million. Interestingly, the winning ticket was purchased at the same shop that sold Dolores McNamara’s historic €115 million EuroMillions jackpot ticket in 2005.
Online players also saw remarkable success, collectively winning €32 million across 34 players, with eight prizes exceeding €1 million. Four of these significant wins came from Dublin-based players.
As 2024 nears its close, the excitement continues to build for the Millionaire Raffle on New Year’s Eve, which is guaranteed to create yet another Lottery Millionaire.
