The 63 nations that make up 90% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions are included in the analysis. Ireland achieved its best-ever finish, moving up 14 spots from the previous year to rank 29th.
As a result, the Republic is now regarded as a medium performer on climate action for the first time.
Along with advances in energy use, climate policy, and legislation, Ireland's ranking benefited from a notable rise in renewable energy capacity.
It is thought to perform poorly in terms of greenhouse gas emissions, though. Denmark topped the ranking for the fourth consecutive year.
The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and Morocco come next in sequence. According to the international climate performance indicator, the US is rated 57th.
Germanwatch, an environmental group that has tracked and assessed several nations' attempts to cut greenhouse gas emissions and meet the target set in the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, created the analysis.
This is in order to keep "the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels" while continuing to try "to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels
