Diesel prices decreased by one cent to an average of €1.66 per litre in October, while petrol prices fell by two cents to €1.72 per litre.

Crude oil prices are varying daily at about $74 per barrel, according to AA.

According to Jennifer Kilduff, AA (Ireland) Head of Marketing & PR, EV drivers are doing better this month since normal 24-hour tariffs are going down with energy supplier Energia.

"We also know that Electric Ireland is reducing their rates from November 1, so rates will only continue to get better for EV drivers over the next few months," she said.

She said that drivers may save money by arranging gasoline refills and doing their research.

"Motorists can enhance fuel efficiency by reducing speed and regularly maintaining and servicing their vehicles according to the manufacturer's recommended guidelines. This not only boosts fuel economy but also improves overall vehicle safety and performance," she cocnluded.
