The new store is situated in Coleraine's Riverside Retail Park and is a significant improvement in comparison with the previous one. With an astounding 2,514 square meters, the new location has increased the amount of space available to customers and added eight additional employment, increasing the store's workforce to 30.

The new store, which is the largest in NI, features the largest solar power network of any Lidl store across the island of Ireland and has been built with sustainability in mind, earning the highest possible rating for energy efficiency. Moreover, the store includes two electric vehicle charging points, further promoting green energy use and encouraging sustainable transportation options for customers.

To celebrate the occasion, Lidl Northern Ireland made a generous contribution of 1,000 thousand pounds in store vouchers to the Zachary Geddis Break the Silence Trust and the Coleraine Men’s Group, two local charities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting local communities.

Ivan Ryan, regional managing director for Lidl Northern Ireland, shared, "We are delighted to officially open the doors to our largest store in Northern Ireland. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing and upgrading our store network and providing the best possible shopping experience for our customers. Sustainability and energy efficiency have been carefully considered throughout every phase of this store’s development, and we are proud to say that it is not only the largest Lidl store in Northern Ireland, but also one of the most sustainable in our network”.

With this new store, Lidl continues to strengthen its presence in Northern Ireland while ensuring its operations align with the growing demand for more sustainable and energy-efficient retail options.
