The British company confirmed on Tuesday that it has agreed to purchase the Homebase outlets in Letterkenny, Navan, and Waterford for €3.7 million.
These additions will expand B&Q’s presence in the Republic, bringing its total number of stores to 11.
The deal is subject to regulatory and landlord approvals, with the transactions expected to be finalized in the first half of next year. B&Q plans to rebrand the first of these locations during that period, with all three conversions anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025.
Employees at the acquired stores will transfer to B&Q following the completion of the acquisition and a consultation process.
Graham Bell, Chief Executive of B&Q, stated, “We’re thrilled to incorporate these three stores into our network. Our goal is to provide home improvers with the choice and convenience they need. These locations are in areas that deserve a top-quality home improvement store.”
He added, “We’re eager to finalize the purchase, rebrand the storesunder the B&Q name, and welcome our new customers and colleagues to the B&Q family.”
