The event will begin on O'Connell Street and is organised by the Dublin Marathon in collaboration with the Dublin City Council. Runners will leave the city's north and return to the city centre at the end of the course.

Ballybough, Whitehall, Killester, Howth Road, Raheny, Clontarf, St Anne's Park, Fairview Park, and Seville Place will all be on the route.

The idea of holding another half marathon in the nation's capital excites Jim Aughney, event director of the Dublin City Half Marathon, who stated: "As a non-profit organisation, our focus is on meeting the needs of the running community."

We are aware of the growing desire for another top-notch half marathon in Dublin, since our existing event, which takes place in September, often sells out weeks in advance.

"We are excited to partner with Dublin City Council to make this Spring Half Marathon event a reality."

He stated: "With our expertise in organising the country's most prestigious marathon and race series, we look forward to bringing another top-notch event to the streets of Dublin."

On September 21, the half marathon in Phoenix Park, which is a part of the Dublin Race Series leading up to the October Dublin Marathon, will go on as planned.
