This new building, which consists of 154 one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes, is one of the most expensive rental projects in the nation.
Rents for cost rental housing are determined only by the cost of construction, management, and upkeep, making it an economical and safe option for middle-class individuals.
According to Oaklee, the monthly rents for the apartments at The Sidings development range from €1,525 to €1,800 and are at least 25% less than market prices.
Of the 154 units, 71 have one bed, 81 have two beds, and two have three beds. With assistance from South Dublin County Council (SDCC), Oaklee is constructing the homes using funds from the Department of Housing's Cost Rental Equity Loan (CREL) program and private finance from the Housing Finance Agency (HFA).
Although Oaklee now oversees more than 2,500 properties in 19 counties, this new project represents the company's first introduction of affordable rental properties. "It is very welcome that Oaklee is launching its first Cost Rental scheme here in Dublin," stated Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien.
"The construction of safe, high-quality homes in Adamstown will significantly improve the lives of over 150 families and individuals.
"A robust pipeline of cost rental homes is now in place and it’s through the work of AHBs like Oaklee working in collaboration with my department, with our Local Authorities and with our Agencies that we will scale it up even further," he stated.
