According to the Northern Ireland Secretary, he has not seen any updated cost plans for the GAA stadium's reconstruction.
He did, however, express his belief that the stadium should be finished "in the interests of respecting all of the sporting traditions in Northern Ireland" when he addressed the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee.
When the UK government said in September that it would not fill a financing shortfall to complete the renovation in time, it dashed expectations that the now-defunct west Belfast site would host games in Euro 2028.
It stated that missing the tournament deadline posed an excessive danger to the public coffers. Concerns were also raised by the British government regarding the project's possible cost increase to above £400 million (€478 million).
In 2011, as part of a stadium strategy that included renovations for the rugby pitch at Ravenhill and football's Windsor Park, the Stormont Executive committed to redeveloping Casement Park.
The two previous Belfast-based projects proceeded, but local citizens' legal challenges caused the reconstruction of Casement to be postponed.
