The event, which was started in collaboration with AIB, is held in more than 160 places nationwide throughout the month of December with the goal of raising money to support the charity's work with underprivileged people worldwide.
TV personality Paddy Smyth, chef and author Trisha Lewis, and colleague broadcaster Katja Mia join Anna in urging everyone to walk 2,000 steps, or roughly one mile, in support of GOAL's mission.
According to Anna Daly, "the GOAL Mile is such a special tradition for so many families and friends across Ireland." It's a great chance to meet new people, enjoy some fresh air, and help GOAL continue its amazing mission of changing the world.
"I’m delighted to be involved and encourage everyone to step up together and make a meaningful difference this Christmas."
Tens of thousands of people have participated in the GOAL Mile for more than 40 years, running, jogging or walking a mile to raise money for GOAL at Christmas.
This event unites locals to support GOAL's humanitarian efforts in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Ukraine. AIB is urging everyone in Ireland to join together in the GOAL Mile this year in order to establish a new tradition.
