Electric vehicle (EV) running costs have also fallen, with owners now paying an average of €857.77 per year to cover 17,000 km, a reduction of €58 compared to the previous month.
Jennifer Kilduff, Head of Marketing & PR for AA Ireland, commented, “This September has been positive for motorists. Both petrol and diesel prices have declined, likely due to a drop in crude oil costs. EV drivers are also benefiting from lower monthly charging expenses.
“More reductions are anticipated from November 1st, as Electric Ireland plans to cut some of its rates. Hopefully, these savings won’t be impacted by any upcoming budget measures.”
