By the end of the year, the firm will employ nearly 1,000 individuals altogether thanks to the additional positions.
With 90% of its income coming from sources outside of Ireland, MTM is a global provider of power and communication services. It has made a name for itself as a significant participant in international markets, especially in the quickly expanding data centre industry.
The CEO of MTM, Brendan Mee, stated that the firm has reached an important new milestone.
"The investment represents our long-term commitment to growing both our business and our presence in the local community - as well as throughout Europe and beyond," he added.
"The new roles will span a variety of functions, including engineering, operations, finance, commercial, health & safety, quality, logistics and administration, helping us continue to meet the growing demand for our services while maintaining our dedication to innovation and quality," he said.
Since its founding in 1997, MTM Engineering has grown from an Irish cable installation and termination business to become one of the world's top suppliers of critical route delivery services for communication and power, with operations in ten nations.
Over the past three years, it has acquired Leo Larkin Electrical, CET Connect, ATSS Ventures, and TA Ronan in order to broaden the range of services it offers in complementary industries and new markets. CET Connect and TA Ronan, in particular, have been steadily growing within their respective markets.
MTM collaborated with Waterland Private Equity Ireland in 2022 to further its goals for international expansion.
According to Laura Dillon, a partner at Waterland Private Equity Ireland, MTM Engineering's leadership in the data centre industry is evident.
"The business has grown remarkably in foreign markets, and we are excited to help with this next stage of expansion. The addition of 200 employment will significantly strengthen the local economy and further establish Ireland's standing as a centre for state-of-the-art infrastructure services, the speaker continued.
