The hosts have been rearranged as a result of many high-profile departures from the station recently, including Jennifer Zamparelli, The

2 Johnnies, and Doireann Garrihy.

"Far from it," RTÉ director-general Kevin Bakhurst said in an interview with the PA news agency, refuting claims that 2FM had run out of ideas.

The response to the call-out, according to him, was "fantastic."

More than 500 submissions were received from a variety of sources, including current radio hosts, employees, podcasters, social media users, and some outstanding young Irish-language journalists.

"They had five hundred. I estimate that 150 people will be given the opportunity to audition.
