For the Domus III hangar, Brett Martin, a company based in Mallusk, produced more than 2,400 square metres of floor-to-ceiling door panels.
The 300-meter-long and 175,000-square-foot new hangar. This week's Farnborough Airshow is being held at Farnborough Airport, which has invested a total of £55 million in it.
The whole length of the building's translucent floor-to-ceiling doors are made from panels.
According to Brett Martin, the panels cut emissions in two ways: by allowing for "unhindered access" to the hangar, they eliminate some "unnecessary emissions from aircraft handling activities," and by boosting natural light, which lessens the need for artificial lighting.
Brett Martin is a plastic sheet factory that has more than a thousand workers.
It has worked with Premier League football teams including Manchester United and Manchester City, achieving yearly sales of over £220 million.
