At two hours and twenty-six minutes, Ethiopian Sorome Negash became the first woman to cross the finish line.

After two hours and eleven minutes, Stephen Scullion became the first Irish person to complete. With that, he finished in third position and set a record for the quickest Irishman to run the Dublin Marathon.

The 42nd Dublin City Marathon had around 25,000 participants.

Throughout part of the day, Dublin's surrounding roads were off-limits to vehicles due to the marathon.

The wheelchair competitors started the 42nd edition of the event at 8:40 a.m. from Fitzwilliam Square on the south side of the city centre.

The 25,000 competitors were divided into groups, with the last wave leaving at 9.45 am, and the groups starting 20 minutes apart.
