Bus operators that would want to provide scheduled bus services from the different bus stops outside the two terminals starting in the spring of 2024 are invited to submit an expression of interest to the airport.

The available licences will go into effect on March 1st, 2024, and have a three-year term with a two-year opportunity to renew.

Dublin Airport states in the tender materials that it is seeking to collaborate with bus operators who will increase and improve overall bus connections and frequency. This will lessen the airport's present reliance on private vehicles for transportation to and from the airport.

About one-third (33%) of leaving passengers and one-third (35%) of the 19,900 employees of Dublin Airport now take buses to get to the campus; nevertheless, Dublin Airport “sees strong potential to increase both percentages over the coming years.”

“We are inviting fresh thinking and initiatives to improve the attractiveness of the bus service operating to Dublin Airport for our passengers and employees alike," stated Vincent Harrison, chief commercial, and development officer of Dublin Airport. We are eager to collaborate with bus operators that can assist us in growing our current operations and introducing new routes that will connect more regions of the nation to Dublin Airport, given that the number of passengers has returned to a level near to what it was prior to the Covid pandemic.”

Interested operators have until November 22nd to submit a proposal to operate from one of the bus stops at Dublin Airport. The Zone 16 Coach Park at Dublin Airport will continue to accept bus operators servicing the airport “to add to the options available to passengers and staff alike” even if they choose not to participate in this tender.
