The origins of Well Spent Grain, a company based in Walkinstown, Dublin, can be traced back to its co-founder's passion for long-distance hiking and cuisine. Sunkyung Choi and Patrick Nagle, partners, claim that they were drawn to the food chain and its waste problems by their passions. After conducting an investigation, they learned about the wonders of brewer's leftover grain and launched their own business.

Being Reborn Utilising wasted grain, a byproduct of the beer manufacturing process, bites are created. Anyone who cares about the environment will appreciate the tasty and environmentally friendly snack that Well Spent Grain has made with this grain. They provide a nice energy boost when hiking, working out, or just taking a stroll due to their high fibre content.

Sunkyung Choi the Co-Founder said: “We are excited to launch our new snack line, Born Again Bites.”

“We believe that sustainability is important, and we are committed to doing our part to help the environment. We hope that our customers will enjoy our delicious snacks and feel good about supporting a circular company. We want to make it easy for people to take part in the circular food economy and our Born Again Bites are a great way to jump in.”

In collaboration with Bold Donut, a web-based game was created as a fun teaching tool to aid Well Spent Grain in telling their production narrative and showcasing a circular food product by educating consumers about what makes Born Again Bites circular, how they are manufactured, and why it is valuable.

The Taste of Local sections of eight SuperValu locations in Rathgar, Ranelagh, Churchtown, Blackrock, Knocklyon, Newcastle, Lucan, and Wicklow Town are now carrying Well Spent Grain's Born Again Bites.
