To honour the accomplishments of the Women's Football team, the Central Bank of Ireland has released a 15 Euro limited edition commemorative coin. The silver proof coin acknowledges the significance of the team's contribution to women's and girls' football in Ireland.
The coin arrives as the group is ready to play the hosts of the Women's World Cup in their opening game next week.
In addition to Governor Gabriel Makhlouf and Minister for Sport and Physical Education, Thomas Byrne TD, international athletes Jamie Finn and Abbie Larkin took time out of their hectic World Cup preparations to help debut the coin in Tolka Park.
Ellie O'Mahony and Daisy White, two young Shelbourne players, also assisted with the unveiling. The selling price is €65, and there is a 3,000 coin maximum issuance. The coin is produced in proof quality.925 sterling silver. On July 14, 2023, at 10 a.m., they will be available for purchase here.
