According to the firm, all of the apprenticeships will result in permanent positions in instrumentation and electrical engineering. Over the course of the following year, the vacancies will be filled, increasing the firm's total workforce to 1,600.
Chief Operating Officer Brendan Moley stated, "The need to develop our highly skilled workforce grows as we grow our European footprint."
"Apprentices are the lifeblood of our industry, and at any one time, we could have up to 400 apprentices in the business."
It's also fascinating to note that not everyone is joining us right out of school. Both men and women in their 30s and 40s are upskilling, have decided to return to school, and view Suir Engineering as a viable choice for a career transition.
To help the State's SOLAS training program, the company is also opening a new Apprentice Centre of Excellence. The company's City West campus in Dublin will house it, and its Waterford headquarters will provide auxiliary training.
Suir Engineering, which was founded forty years ago, generated €429 million in revenue last year, a 41% rise from the year before.
The business maintains offices in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Waterford, Dublin, and the United Kingdom.
