The current proposal is for a 180-seat Lauda Europe Airbus A320 to operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, between the capital Zagreb and Palermo starting on March 30.

This would be the first scheduled, direct trip between the two cities if these plans go through. However, tickets are not yet available for purchase, and Ryanair has not yet made a final decision.

With flights to Rome Fiumicino, Milan Bergamo, Naples, and Pisa, which were added this past summer, Ryanair has enjoyed success in the Italian market from Zagreb, according to EX-YU Aviation.

At the moment, flights to Naples are only offered during the summer.

Last year, Ryanair carried around 70,000 passengers from Zagreb to Milan Bergamo, making it one of its busiest flights.

There has also been a lot of interest in Ryanair's leisure destinations from Zagreb. Despite operating in the winter, Ryanair expects to resume flights to Memmingen next summer after halting service in the summer of 2024.

Ryanair will begin the fourth year of a five-year Growth Incentive Model at Zagreb Airport in 2025. In order to maintain incentives, Ryanair must increase the number of passengers it departs by at least 75,000 each year.

If the airline surpasses 150,000 extra passengers exiting year, it might receive even greater reductions. Other important destinations for Ryanair are Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, France, and Malta. Italy is anticipated to be the airline's largest market from Zagreb next summer.
