Nearly a year after the decision was anticipated, An Bord Pleanala gave its approval. According to the Irish Times, the NTA filed their proposal for the Tallaght/Clondalkin line in April 2023.
The BusConnects corridor is around 15.5 km long, and there is a further 3.9 km of offline riding space that is divided into two sections: the Tallaght to City Centre segment and the Clondalkin to Drimnagh section.
The route will travel from Nangor Road in Clondalkin and The Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght to Nicholas Street close to St. Patrick's Cathedral in the city centre.
Ballymount, Walkinstown, Drimnagh, Crumlin, and Dolphin's Barn will all be on its route. It is anticipated that this would reduce over 100,000 daily automobile journeys.
