The funds were a portion of a €500,000 donation to several Cork charities and schools. The funds were received earlier this week by St. Killian's Special School in Mayfield.

According to principal Sue Lenihan, the funds will be used to purchase products for students that go "above and beyond their needs."

She clarified that the donation came as a complete surprise. It was unbelievable to see the pay cheque.

I'm not even sure how to put it. It's truly, truly, truly great." According to Ms. Lenihan, the money was sent by a solicitor and was given anonymously.

When she opened the envelope and saw the cheque, she claimed to be in complete shock. We've never received an anonymous donation before, so it's quite remarkable.

"We are so thankful to whoever felt that we should receive that."
