Beginning early in the upcoming year, local government buildings like libraries, parks, parking lots, community centres, swimming pools, and sports centres will have fast chargers available.

The government agency in charge of pushing more people to convert to electric cars declared that it ought to promote EV adoption more aggressively.

Over the next six years, 8,000 electric vehicle charging stations are expected to be needed in Dublin to accommodate electric vehicle owners, especially those without access to home charging.

More than half of these will be provided by Dublin's municipal administrations.

They declared that 200 public charging stations will be added over the course of the next two years, increasing the capital's infrastructure for charging by 50%.

Chargers will be dispersed across 40 spots throughout the county and city, according to David Storey, Director of Environment, Climate Change, and Active Travel for the Fingal County Council.

“Since they are situated on land owned by the local government, nearby amenities including regional parks, swimming pools, and libraries are available.”

“They're also targeted at a variety of individuals, including those who visit these places and those who plainly don't have charging at home," he added.
