Tesco announced that it will reiterate its support for a number of Irish brands in the upcoming weeks, including Irish Yoghurts, Country Crest, Freshways, Silver Pail, Ballymaguire Foods, Bandon Vale, and Crust & Crumb.

Along with the investment, a €36 million contract with dairy cooperative Aurivo is included, which will provide the supermarket chain's 177 locations across the country with 28 million litres of milk, branded butter, and milkshakes.

To fulfil the deal, more than 1,000 farms from 14 counties will keep supplying fresh milk that is 100% Irish sourced every day.

Across the west of Ireland, Aurivo—which owns the Connacht Gold, Donegal Creameries, and Arrabawn brands—employs 700 people and sells to nearly 50 nations.

Tesco claims to purchase more Irish food and drink annually—€1.6 billion—than the country's total exports to all of the EU's member states.

According to Indecon Economic Consultants, Tesco is now the world's biggest retailer of Irish food and drink.

Tesco Ireland's Commercial Director, Joe Manning, stated that the grocery chain was providing its partners with multi-year assurances so they could proceed to grow and develop with assurance, having already benefited from long-standing partnerships with Tesco over many years.
