The championship will be played on three separate courses. The Old Course at St Andrew. Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarn Golf Links will host the event.
Other DP World Tour players such as Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, Nicolai Højgaard and Alex Fitzpatrick are some of the big names playing at the home of golf. Newly-crowned BMW PGA Champion Billy Horschel will also be in the field.
Speaking ahead of this tournament, Rory McIlroy expressed his hopes of ‘golf's civil war’ ending by 2025: “Maybe it is going too slow for the people who follow golf. But I think in the business world deals of this size take time.”
“It’s a pretty complicated deal, but I think we’ll know more by the year’s end hopefully. We are in October, so three months to get something done and start 2025 with enthusiasm and all move forward together.”
