The 89-bed facility, located in the city's ancient Ebrington Barracks, opened its doors in July of last year.
Cecil Doherty, managing director, expressed his "absolutely delighted" reaction to receiving the honour.

Well-known chefs Noel McMeel, who was formerly of Lough Erne Resort, and Leigh Thurston oversee the Oakroom Restaurant at the facility.
It also offers a spa and wellness area with its own line of diffusers and skincare products.
Prior to opening, the hotel got £1.75 million from Invest NI, an economic development organisation, and £7.25 million from the NI Investment Fund.
