The festival, held in Stradbally, Co Laois, from August 16th to 18th, will feature a new initiative called “Return for Children,” launched by Re-turn, the operator of Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme.
This charity campaign is a collaboration with six of Ireland’s national children’s charities: Barnardos Ireland, Barretstown, Childline by ISPCC, Jack and Jill Foundation, LauraLynn Children’s Hospice, and Make-A-Wish Ireland. Together, these organizations support over 165,000 vulnerable children, including those affected by poverty, abuse, neglect, bereavement, and serious or life-limiting illnesses.
For the first time, these six charities are united under a single campaign. Designated Re-turn donation bins will be placed throughout the Electric Picnic site, allowing attendees to donate their container deposits to the cause. Alternatively, festival-goers can use Reverse Vending Machines near the bar areas to return their bottles and cans in exchange for vouchers if they prefer.
