According to the Department of Housing, like in the past, the majority of the deliveries will take place in the last few months of the year. In the first quarter, 232 social dwellings were rented and another 330 were purchased.

Out of a target of 12,930 social dwellings by 2024, 720 social homes were provided in total during the first quarter.

The pipeline's strength suggests that this year's deliveries will surpass those of the previous year.

9,179 social housing were on site at the end of March, according to the most recent Construction Status Report, with 15,848 more dwellings in the design and tender stages.

In terms of affordable housing, 1,053 dwellings were completed during the initial quarter.

The First Home Scheme saw the delivery of 809 units; the remaining 321 units came from approved housing bodies, 150 from the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant, 32 from the Local Authority Purchase Scheme, and 38 from the Cost Rental Tenant in Situ Scheme. The local government built none of them.
