The Ibec organisation that represents the beverage industry, Drinks Ireland Beer, also reported that a 50% increase in non-alcoholic beer production was made in response to growing customer demand.

In Ireland, the market share of non-alcoholic beer is at 2%.

Drinks Ireland Beer reported that non-alcoholic beer has about 14% of the Spanish market, and Irish manufacturers are optimistic that Ireland will see comparable non-alcoholic product sales, supporting industry and government efforts to promote moderation.

According to today's analysis, beer will hold its position as the nation's most popular alcoholic beverage with a 42.9% market share in 2023.

The amount of beer produced domestically increased by 1.6% in the previous year, continuing the rebound after a notable 110% spike in 2022 following pandemic restrictions.

Despite a 2% decrease to 57.6% market share, lager continues to be the most popular beer type in Ireland. Stout saw a 2.6% gain to 35.6%, while Ale saw a modest increase to 4.9%.

There has been a reduction in per capita beer consumption in 2023, which has resulted in a decline of almost 11% from 2019.

Nowadays, fewer people drink alcohol per capita in Ireland than in the UK and the majority of European nations, such as Germany, France, and Spain.

Ireland continues to have the third-highest beer excise duty, despite an 11% increase in beer exports to a value of €330 million.
