The Dublin West TD, who was most recently a Minister of State in the Department of Transport, was first elected to the Dáil in 2016.
Tomorrow is the official day when Mr. Chambers will be appointed as the Finance Minister.
From 2020 until 2022, the 33-year-old led the government as chief whip.
He was named deputy leader of Fianna Fáil last week, and Micheál Martin, the Tánaiste, praised him for his ability to manage the party's recent local election campaign.
Mr. Martin also mentioned Mr. Chambers's early days in the Government as Chief Whip.
Most recently, Mr. Chambers served as the Department of Transport's Minister of State, where he took the lead in lowering speed restrictions across the nation.
Since that position is quite junior, Mr. Chambers has been present at Cabinet sessions for the past four years.
