The average price of a home in the region has risen to just over €251,000.

In the Midlands, the average home price has increased by more than €4,000.
According to figures from the CSO, the average property price in the region was just over €251,000 in the second quarter of this year.
In the midlands, the highest price is found in Laois at €260,000, followed by Westmeath at €255,000, while in Offaly, the median price is €238,500.
Nationally, the cost of a home increased by 7.9% in the year leading up to April.
