The concept offers a replacement for the library premises located beside the Grand Canal port and was postponed because to the Covid-19 epidemic.

It is housed at Naas Town Hall, which was formerly the headquarters of the town council and other local government bodies that looked for the Naas metropolitan region.

A large children's library will be available, complete with a variety of media, wet areas for cultural activities, IT support, digital technology access, console stations, and a toddler storytelling section.

A dedicated suite that offers space for technology, training, and innovation and gives access to the newest technologies such as 3D printing, virtual reality, and digital and audio editing will assist the development of digital skills.

The building will be divided into study, work, and research zones, each of which will have a quiet workplace.

The restoration project, according to Kildare County Council Chief Executive Sonya Kavanagh, “provides a new use for this iconic building at the heart of Naas while preserving its important history and heritage.”

She stated that the modern facilities “will provide an exceptional library service as well as a multi-use community space and cultural event space for the growing population of Naas and its environs.”
