Tesco Ireland, which released a list of the top ten things they bought on Christmas Eve, claims this.

Third on the list of most popular items was cheese, followed by confectionery.

Fourth on the list are chips, candies, and nuts like Pringles; culinary sauces like stuffing mix come in fifth.

The fact that frozen food is on the list for the first time may indicate that consumers are preparing more party food for Christmas. Another recent addition to the list was salads, which may indicate that Christmas Day service will include additional appetisers.

Tesco expects Saturday, December 23rd, to be its busiest day. Sales of specific products during the final hour of selling on Christmas Eve were uneven the previous year. Reusable bags, milk, Pringles, Coca-Cola, and Baileys were at the top of the list.
